Rectifiers and DC Power Supplies – Refurbishment

DC Rectifiers form an integral part of Riley Industries’ range of Surface Treatment and Finishing products. We also provide second hand, reconditioned power supply units for a wide variety of industrial applications and, in partnership with Drake Power Systems, can often provide a complete turnkey solution for all manufacturers.

Our Rectifiers are fully checked and tested on and off load before handover to the customer. Typical refurbishment procedures include the installation of new diodes and supply of new meters and shunts to restore units to full working order.

Riley Industries has a full in-house test rig, with the capability of conducting on-load testing up to 5000 amps as well as off-load testing. Diodes are fully checked for any imbalances and overload trips are fully tested and replaced where necessary. We also repair and replace all thermal protection devices, DC smoothing capacitors and bleed resistors.

Transformer coils are frequently re-shellacked, with the infusion of a specialised lacquer varnish for full insulation and protection from corrosion. Corrosion on terminals is cleaned, checked and repaired/replaced, using original OEM terminal components for refits.

Control systems are also refurbished. We conduct both on and off load testing of Brentford Regulators, replacing parts where necessary and checking the condition of the oil and cardon brushes. Thyristor Controls can be retrofitted with new control units to regulate both current and voltage, with the facility for automatic PLC control.

Refurbished power supply units and DC Rectifiers are all sold with 1-year warranties for complete peace of mind.
