• Rack plating. The process whereby larger products and components are jig mounted and individually plated, either by automatic or manual means. Complete electroplating production lines can be supplied for coatings such as chrome, nickel, copper, zinc, silver and brass.
  
  
• Barrel plating. The process by which smaller products or components are bulk loaded into plastic barrels to be collectively immersion coated as part of a multi-stage wet treatment facility. This method is generally used for protective coatings and is less highly finished than the Rack Plating process. The system can include plant and equipment for a large number of plating, rinsing, filtering, drying and effluent disposal stages.
  
  
• Hard chrome plating. The process by which much thicker deposits of electrolytic coatings are applied to the surfaces of components. This method is generally used in precision engineering for components in the aerospace, automotive and other similar types of industry. Hard chrome plating is also used for machine tool parts, press tools and other machinery that is subject to intense stress levels.
  
  
• Electro-phoretic coatings. This is a similar process to electroplating, but using paint or lacquer finishes on to the base metal, rather than the more commonly used metal alloys. This is also an aqueous-based procedure requiring a range of electroplating plant and equipment, but utilising different forms of chemistry. The process produces many types of decorative and coloured finishes, such as those found on many consumer products as well as cars and other engineered items.
  
  
• Electro polishing. This process utilises electrolytic or chemical principles and specialised chemistry in order to treat the surface of a component anodicaly, rather than adding a coating to it. The result is a bright, smooth, highly polished finish suitable for both consumer products and for items used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and electronics industries. Electro polishing requires a wide selection of electrolytic plant and equipment to be used, including DC rectifiers, Tanks, ovens, filter presses and effluent disposal plant.
