Blasting Equipment – Refurbishment

Because of the heavy wear and tear involved in the blasting process, blasting machines are often in need of extensive refurbishment. Riley Industries is a European leader in the sale of used blasting plant & equipment and carries large stocks of all types of machines, from simple, manually operated cabinet-type units, conveyors, indexing systems, suction systems and pressure-fed machines to more sophisticated airless wheel-type automatic systems.

For instance, when dealing with air-driven Venturi-Suction cabinets, we employ specialist consultants with an OEM background to assess the machine and check for all necessary repairs. The wear and tear involved in the blasting process is particularly noticeable in ‘Aqua Blast’ style wet blasting systems, where the media exerts a great deal of pressure on the linings of both pumps and cabinets.

Ancillary parts that are replaced or repaired on blasting equipment include wipers, hoses, motors, guns, nozzles, blast wheels, pump-housing linings and turntable mechanisms.

The cleaning out of used and damaged media is an important part of the refurbishment of blasting machines. In many cases machines are combined with cyclone and dust control extraction units in order to separate the good from the bad media and ensure that the machine is working to full efficiency. For on-going media supplies, such as shot, glass bead and aluminium oxide, we have access to a large selection of OEM suppliers and can arrange supplies direct from the manufacturer to the customer.

Dust Extraction Plant & Equipment – refurbishment

Riley Industries holds large stocks of both wet and dry dust extraction systems. These include continuously rated systems with reverse-pulse filter cleaning principles and intermittent systems with automatic mechanical ‘shake-down’ facilities. Approximately 50% of these are sold as ‘run and checked’ in full working order with no warranty. The rest are normally refurbished to a high standard and offered with 3 months warranty.

Motors and Fulimatic Controls are repaired or replaced and replacement ductwork can be fitted if required. The refurbishment of extraction units frequently involves the replacement of consumable items such as filters, filter bags, cartridges and general machine spares. For the on-going supply of consumables, we refer our customers to the OEM suppliers, or specialist contractors such as G Hunt Filtration, Heath Filtration, Filtex and Carter Environmental.
